So I just watched '17 People'.

My God! the tension, the laughs...amazing episode!

I think I loved this episode as much as Noel. It was such a brilliant balance of intense drama mixed in with snappy comedy. Every minute of this episode was just gold, totally engaging.

Further thoughts....

- I still adore Josh/Donna. I want them to stay as a platonic pairing (because I'm the anti-shipper), but I doubt they will. But I'm really enjoying this period with them as a cute comic dream team.

- CJ wasn't in this episode! How can I love '17 People' without CJ?! It must have been damn good.

- OMG, I am impossibly in love with Toby Zeigler, his enormous brain and his rubber ball of simmering angst. Toby Vs Bartlet is the scariest thing ever. Clash of the Titans. If I was Leo I would have been hiding behind the couch.

- Sam, you are so adorkable. Ainsley, you're a sex kitten. I love all the characters!

- I've made a bet with myself that Charlie knows about the MS. He works so closely with Bartlet and is cool enough to keep it under his hat. He must know. Charlie is still the coolest character on the show, aside for Mrs Landingham.

And people say the S2 finale is even better?! I'm gonna have to brace myself....

I don't remember which one this is...but they're all so good, really. It's not the one with the Peters Projection map, is it? I love that one. That might also be the one with CJ doing "The Jackal", which is also awesome.

Can you tell I just love CJ to pieces?

It's the one where Toby finds out about Bartlets MS, with a subplot where Josh, Donna, Sam and Ainsley are trying to write a funny speech. I was torn between laughing and biting my nails in every scene.

'The Jackel' owns me. CJ is a legend.

Oh yes! That one! One of my favorite scenes in that was when Toby confronted Abby about it and realized she'd been covering for him for so long. Intense!

I haven't seen Toby confront Abby yet! That will be intense.

Toby/rubber ball = West Wing OTP :) If you couldn't guess given my older son's name, Toby is one of my all-time favorite characters EVER. (Trevor's lucky we weren't too deep into BSG when he was born or he might have been stuck as Felix.) I always wanted to do a WW/HP crossover where Toby taught Muggle Studies at Hogwarts and had an office next to Snape's. Especially with the ball.

I have to be the only person in the fandom though whose WW OTP isn't Josh/Donna. I like them okay, but frankly I think Donna deserves better than how Josh treats her. My WW OTP is CJ/Danny (something about that relationship is just adorable), with Jed/Abby in a very, very, very close second.

If I was ever going to write a BSG/WW crossover, though, I think it would be fun to give Charlie and Felix a buddy comedy, or have Hoynes and Zarek scheme against each other :) Or have Adama and Roslin and Tigh at a state dinner with Jed and Leo.

::sigh:: I miss West Wing. I ought to pull the DVDs back out!

Toby is my favourite too, though it's really tough to pick a favourite with characters like CJ, Josh and Mrs Landingham also in the running. With Toby I'm just fixated on his quiet broody intensity. I can imagine the rubber ball is hitting the wall inside his brain all the time.

I don't know if I'll like Josh/Donna as much as a romance, but I love the way they are now. Jed/Abby are awesome too. But I prefer platonic pairings myself - I love the Bartlet/Charlie relationship. They are probably my OTP. They are so sweet and funny together. I'm also starting to love Leo/Margret.

Haha! Zarek and Hoynes are made for each other!

17 people is an excellent episode and the long term ramifications for everyone, espcially Toby, linger into the third season. The rest of the season is excellent.

Margaret is one of my favourite of the supporting cast. I love the Josh/Donna banter, and liked it with them as friends. Although I'm not really a shippy person, part of me was into the idea of Toby/CJ.

Yeah, I watched the next ep where Toby is being Mr Bad Grumble to everyone. I can see it's going to linger. And I was right that Charlie knew! It was a sweet moment when Bartlet told Charlie never to lie to protect him.

Hmn. I like the idea of Toby/CJ too! I loved their scene together when CJ fell in the pool. But on the other hand, they are both fiercely independant people. I don't know if I can see them getting too shippy with anyone.

I keep wondering if Sam/Ainsley is going somewhere.
